Two words…. The Experience.
I am a boutique level service provider.
While I view every image I create as art I never loose sight that I am a service based business.Everything I do is based on the building of a relationship and trust of my clients. This starts with identifying and listening to their needs in order that I may deliver that exceptional experience.
Clients will invest financially in retaining a photographer, however that is not their most important investment. They will invest their time, energy & their trust. Those are investments that are finite and can never be replaced.
Whether covering an Event or capturing that once in a lifetime moment, there are no “do overs”.
There is no room for errors nor miscommunication.
I will never book back to back clients on the same date no matter how “short” the project may be. That project is the only project to that client, and therefore the only project to me.
The reason is simple, my time and energy is also finite. I will never commit to providing the level of detail or focus that I demand of myself if the entire day is not available to that client. Period.
While you will find my service rates are comparable to others in the market you will find the value experience far exceeds what is available elsewhere.

This is perhaps one of the most frequently asked questions - and an understandable one.
For Event coverage my goal is to capture all the unique moments and memories to tell the story of your event. The quality of your coverage will never be quantified by the quantity of images that I deliver.
“Back in the days” of film it was common for photographers to quantify the amount of deliverables. This was necessary as there were inherent costs (film and prints) in shooting an event and delivering images to the client.
As I shoot digital it is only logical that my goal is to deliver as MANY unique quality images to a client as is possible.
There is no way to preemptively quantify nor project the anticipated number of delivered images.
Much of this will depend on the length of the event, the number of attendees at the event and most importantly the number of special and unique moments.
Many clients inquire .. well why can’t you just deliver all of the images that you capture ?
The answer is multifaceted.
With todays professional cameras which are capable to firing 12-20 frames (pictures) per second it is not unusual to leave an event with thousands of images. In certain key moments as a photographer I may utilize this high “picture per second” rate to capture that exact special moment - or an expression in that moment - by firing 20-40 shots in a matter of seconds.
As such there will be situations where the 5, 10 or 15 consecutive images are identical - or indistinguishable so there is no true value in delivering every one of those frames to a client.
I would be doing a disservice to my client if I sent them 10-15 back to back identical images bloating the “delivered” image count by hundreds or even thousands.
As an artists and a documentarian I will go through these images and select those that have variances and value.
I am seeking to tell the story of your event and deliver to you inquire, artistic and authentic moments - and not to deliver 5k duplicate images.
I will also discard the images where someone is blinking, had another person walk in front of them ect.
Additionally as a photographer I will take “test” shots in order to check exposure, ensure accurate color balance or color rendition of the scene. These “test” images have no value to the client and are for technical adjustments and will also be deleted.
The more poignant question than how “many” images will be captured and delivered may be “what” will be captured and delivered - I answer that in the next question !

In our collaboration we will discuss your specific project, event and end goals for the images to ensure we get the images you seek.
I will be intimately familiar with your event schedule as to ensure I am prepared and ready to capture the keys moments as they occur.
In a general sense my goal is to empower you to tell - or relive - the story of your event via the images.
I will start with establishing shots or the venue or the location to set the stage of the story.
I will invest as much time and attention into capturing the mood and “detail” shots as you have in creating them. Documenting these details can - and never will - be overlooked.
Unless you as the client and I discuss and coordinate another strategy I seek to cover the event in a journalistic fashion.
By this I seek to be as removed as possible from intruding on the guests.
Generally the most cherished and impactful moments are not the “posed” and smile shots but the authentic, genuine moments captured between guests when no-one is aware a camera is on them.
I will normally cary two camera bodies and lenses on my person at all time. With this strategy I am able to utilize a longer focal length to get candid, authentic moments and interactions yet also be prepared at a moments notice for any requested group or wider shots that are needed.
My goal is to present your event in a cohesive, complete and authentic manner thru the images I deliver.

With the term “delivered” images I am referring to the final, edited images that will be delivered to you the client.
Any and all delivered images will have been reviewed, “post processed” and edited by me to ensure that a clean, polished and professional image is delivered to you.
In “non-event” packages such as portrait sessions and engagement shoots I will also complete retouching where I deem it is appropriate. This retouching may include cleaning up of blemishes, spots or stains on clothing, fly away hairs ect.
For all photography packages, including event packages, I offer the client the option to select (5) additional images and request additional retouching that the client and I may collaborate on - these will be completed and resent to the client after the initial image delivery has occurred.

My goal, as simply stated as possible is to deliver to the client as many exceptional crafted images as is possible. Period.
My fee structure is based on a time based coverage period with the goal being to secure - AND DELIVER - all the quality images I can during that period. This includes editing & post processing of the images AND delivery of Commercial or Personal Use licensure to the client.
Various photographers and studios have varying business structures as far as “deliverables”.
Some may structure the fees and packages with an intention of “back end sales” where they will have the client select and/or purchase a set number of images for additional fees beyond the “base” package rate.
This is a perfectly viable and reasonable way to run their business provided that the client is made fully aware of the limitations on what images will be provided to them within their package.
I made a decision a long time ago this is not how I structure my packages as I do not want to be in “sales” - I want to be in the business of delivering and delighting clients with all the images as I gain nothing by not sending you all the delivered images.
Does this mean you will get every image that comes out of my camera ? In a word, No.
With todays professional cameras which are capable to firing 12-20 frames (pictures) per second it is not unusual to leave an event with thousands of images.
In certain key moments as a photographer I may utilize this high “picture per second” rate to capture that exact special moment or expressions of that moment by firing 20-30 shots in a couple seconds.
As such here will be situations where the 5-10 consecutive images are identical or indistinguishable so there is no true value in delivering every one of this frames to a client.
I would be doing a disservice to my client if I send them 10-15 back to back identical images bloating the “delivered” image count by hundreds or even thousands.
As an artists and a documentarian I will go through these images and select those that have variances and value.
I will discard the ones where someone is blinking, had another person walk in front of them ect and deliver to you all the photos of value.
Additionally a photographer will take “test” shots in order to check exposure, accurate color balance or color rendition of the scene. These “test” images have no value to the client and are for technical adjustments of the camera settings during the event.
The above images will be deleted and never delivered to the client.
